Pradeep Singh Kharola has been appointed as the new Director-General. He is a retired IAS officer from the 1985 Karnataka cadre. Previously, he was given additional charge as the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission on May 1, 2024.

When did the National Testing Agency (NTA) come into existence?

The exam was supposed to be conducted between June 25 and 27. On June 21, NTA postponed the exam. NTA has cited circumstances and logistical issues for extending the exam date.
