Skoda Superb : In April, Skoda reintroduced its luxurious sedan, the Skoda Superb, into the Indian auto market with renewed expectations. This time around, the premium car will be available at an attractive price of 54 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Last year, the company withdrew this sedan from the market, but now it’s gearing up to relaunch it with new features and improved technology to carve out a special place once again.
However, for enthusiasts of luxury cars, there’s an exciting piece of news. Skoda has decided to reintroduce its Skoda Superb into the market once again. But, there’s a special twist this time. This luxury sedan will now be presented in the market in a limited edition of only 100 exclusive units. All these units will be imported as Completely Built Units (CBU), enhancing its exclusivity even further.
The most special aspect this time is that this special edition will only be available in the top-spec L&K trim, and compared to the previous L&K model, it will come with many more modern features. So, if you have a penchant for luxury cars, this is a golden opportunity to add the Skoda Superb to your car collection. Bookings have already begun.
For safety, Skoda Superb comes with 9 airbags
As we mentioned earlier, the new Skoda Superb Car prioritizes safety standards to a great extent. This car comes equipped with a total of 9 airbags, including a special airbag for the driver. Additionally, it features various driving modes and dynamic chassis control, enhancing the driving experience further.
However, when it comes to the engine and design, there isn’t anything new in the new Skoda Superb Car. It offers the same features and powertrain as the previous model. There have been no significant changes in the design either. In fact, this Skoda Superb is the same model as the second generation brought to India. Meanwhile, its third generation is already available in the global market. Its competitor will be the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Nevertheless, one thing is certain, compared to luxury sedans like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW, this Skoda Superb Car will be lighter on the pocket.
Skoda Superb Exterior Design
This time, Skoda hasn’t made many changes on the design front of its Superb. However, this car still maintains its stunning design and silhouette. You’ll find Skoda’s signature grille, L-shaped daytime running lights, and LED headlights with sleek bumpers in this car. The front bumper features fog lamps with fine chrome strips on both sides.
Looking at the side design of the car, you’ll notice thin chrome strips on the window line and 18-inch alloy wheels, whereas the previous model had 17-inch alloy wheels.
Moving to the rear, you’ll find fine LED taillights connected with a chrome strip. Additionally, there’s a slim bumper adorned with chrome garnishing.
Skoda Superb Interior Design and Features
Upon peeking into the interior of the Skoda Superb, you’ll encounter a tranquil ambiance. This time around, the designers have adorned the inner space with an appealing fusion of black and brown hues. Despite the simplicity, the touch of luxury remains palpable. Across the dashboard, one can spot slender AC vents, a sleek black-finished center console, and a two-spoke steering wheel. Moreover, delicate chrome accents adorn the surroundings of the AC vents, center console, doors, and steering wheel.
Skoda has made special provisions for passengers occupying the rear seats. Equipped with the Power Nap package, the rear seats now offer a plush ride experience. This package incorporates adjustable headrests, ensuring full head support, and roll-up sun visors that shield the rear windows and windshield from sunlight. Some new features have been introduced while others have been omitted this time.
In the new Skoda Superb, you’ll find a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone climate control, a fully digital driver display, a 12-speaker 610W Canton sound system, front seats with 12-way electrical adjustment including memory function, front seats with cooling and heating function, and a massage function for the driver’s seat.
However, this time around, the company has opted to remove the sunroof feature from the car. Instead, various drive modes with dynamic chassis control are offered.
Skoda Superb Safety Features
When it comes to safety, Skoda has left no stone unturned in the case of the Superb. The car is equipped with 9 airbags, promising to protect you in any challenging situation. Additionally, it comes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Hold Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera for added safety.
Skoda has introduced a special feature in its car that allows the vehicle to apply brakes automatically and also assists in parking. This Park Assist feature aids you in half the work, known as Semi-autonomous Parking Assistance.
Skoda Superb Performance
The engine setup in the Skoda Superb remains unchanged. It continues to house the same 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder TSI turbo petrol engine, delivering 190 horsepower and 320Nm of torque. It’s mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. However, it’s important to note that in the Indian market, this car will be offered exclusively with the front-wheel drive option.
While in the global market, there might be the option for an all-wheel drive (AWD) variant as well. It’s worth mentioning that this Skoda engine is not only found in the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan but is also utilized in several Audi models in India.
